For new SSI Registration in the form of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)

    The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Act 2006 has come into effect from the 2nd day of

October 2006

    Salient Features are :

    As per notification definition of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises is , as below

a) In the case of the enterprises engaged in the manufacture or production of goods pertaining to any industry specified in the first schedule of industries
i) A micro enterprise, where the investment in Plant and Machinery does not exceed twenty-five lakh rupess
ii) A small enterprise, where the investment in Plant And Machinery is more than twenty-five lakh rupees but does not exceed five crore rupess
iii) A medium enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery is more than five crore rupees but does not exceed ten core rupees
 
b) In case of the enterprises engaged in providing or rendering of services, as :
i) A micro enterprise, where the investment in equipment does not exceed ten lakh rupees
ii) A small enterprise, where the investment in equipment is more than ten lakh rupees but does not exceed two cores rupees; or
iii) A medium enterprise, where the investment in equipment is more than two crore rupees but does not exceed five crore rupees.
 
 
 Submission of Entrepreneurs Memorandum by Micro and Small Enterprises
  
1) A micro or small enterprise may, as his discretion, file the memorandum of micro and small scale enterprises, as the case may be, in the prescribed format (Format available at D.I.C., Nadia,Krishnagar/Kalyani Camp Office)
2) The Entrepreneurs Memorandum shall be filed at District Industries Centre
3) The D.I.C. will issue an acknowledgement after alloting an EM number and mentioning date of issue and category of the unit,if the form is complete in all respect and particularly the form is signed and is accompanied by an undertaking which is a part of the Entrepreneurs Memorandum
4) The form of the Entrepreneurs Memorandum shall be of two parts. Any person(s) who intend(s) to establish a micro or small scale enterprise for production or manufacture or for providing or rendering services, may file Part I of the EM.
5) Once the said enterprise starts production or starts providing or rendering services, it may file Part II of The EM
6) In case of non-filing of Part-II of EM within two years of filing of Part -I, the memorandum (Part-I) filed by the Entrepreneur will become valid.
7) This is notified further that all existing units holding  Permanent/Final  SSI Registration Certificate, shall file its petition for EM Part-II in lieu of the existing Permanent/Final Registration within 180-days w.e.f 02.10.2006 This is mandatory
8) At the smae time, it may also be noted that henceforth, instead of issuing Provisional/Temporary Registration Certificate EM (Part-I) will be issued.
