GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION OF NADIA


Nadia District is located in between 22.53’ and 24.11’ North Latitude and 88.09’ and 88.48’ East Longitude.
Tropic of Cancer divides this district in two halves. It crosses NH-34 in Dhubulia PS area near Bahadurpur forest.

Area: - Total area of Nadia is 3926 Sq. KMs. Total population is 46, 03,756 as per population 2001 census.
Density of population is 1173. Percentage of Male and female population is 51.40% and 48.60 % respectively.

Boundary:- Murshidabad District lies in the North and North-West of Nadia. In the South and South-East,
it is surrounded by North 24 Parganas District whereas Burdwan and Hooghly lies in the Western side
and Bangladesh is in the East having 265 K Ms. of Indo – Bangladesh International Border.
